“…to promote awareness and understanding of the world and its people…”

Our Mission

The Vermont Council on World Affairs, in cooperation with the public and private sectors, promotes an awareness and understanding of the world and its people through public forums, hosting international visitors and working with our educational institutions to develop programs for students, faculty, staff and community.

Diplomacy.

As 802 Diplomats, we advance diplomatic relations in Vermont and around the world through our local network of volunteer partners and meeting hosts. Our programs also enhance our national interests by building relationships with international leaders in various fields and providing opportunities for visitors to experience American culture firsthand.

Economic.

As we bring visitors from around the world to Vermont through our programming, we have created millions of dollars in economic impact and continue to look for ways to grow this impact.

Education.

We promote cross-cultural competencies through public forums, dialogue, and engagement. Our events and programs provide community members with unique opportunities to foster long-standing business and personal relationships while working towards a more vibrant, diverse, globally-conscious, and prosperous community.

Our Impact

Each year, the VCWA connects hundreds of international visitors with NGOs, local businesses, government officials, and other community members throughout Vermont. Meetings, site visits, workshops, and round table discussions, provide opportunities to expand professional networks, share information, and build cross-cultural connections that bring Vermont to the world and the world to Vermont.

The Vermont Council on World Affairs invites you to review our 2023 Annual Report. Learn more about our work’s local and global impact by clicking our report below.
