About Us

Thank you for your interest in the Vermont Council on World Affairs (VCWA).  We are celebrating our 55th year of operation in Vermont.  As one of 86 non-profit, non-partisan, independent councils nationwide, we are a member of  the World Affairs Councils of America, open to all who wish to join us in promoting international understanding and awareness.  VCWA was founded in 1952 by a group of distinguished Vermonters, led by former U.S. Senator Warren Austin, and now includes more than 200  Vermonters as well as our state’s leading academic institutions, the town of Colchester, and several internationally minded corporations.

By providing a wide range of educational programs and services to the general public and to academic institutions, by hosting international visitors to Vermont and by promoting international exchanges, VCWA provides the critical link between Vermont and the world.
