History

The Vermont Council on World Affairs (VCWA) was founded in 1952 by U.S. Senator Warren R. Austin and a group of other distinguished Vermonters. For more than half a century and through a changing world, the VCWA has worked to promote awareness and understanding of world affairs among Vermonters through educational programs, presentations and hosting delegates from around the world. The VCWA gratefully acknowledges support for international visitors from the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program, the Community Connections program of USAID, and the Open World Program of the Library of Congress.
