IVLP: Increasing Border Security and Combating Transnational Crime

  • Vermont Council on World Affairs Burlington VT 05401 USA (map)

This project will explore the U.S. justice system and legal framework for addressing transnational crimes, including illegal immigration, drug trafficking, and trafficking in persons. While in Vermont, the visitors will meet with law enforcement and other state and local partners to learn how agencies at different levels work together to detect, investigate, and prosecute transnational crime. The exchange will also highlight best practices and partnerships in crime prevention, mitigation, and prosecution, while examining how Vermont approaches these challenges within and beyond its borders.
