This project makes America safer by exploring efforts to protect cultural heritage and mitigate trafficking in conflict antiquities in the U.S. and worldwide. Meetings, site visits, and activities will focus on federal, state, and local policies that preserve cultural sites and artifacts. Participants will also examine research and development of preservation technology, conservation techniques, funding mechanisms, advocacy methods, educational outreach efforts, and law enforcement strategies.
