This project spotlights America's focus on national safety through law and justice by illustrating the U.S. commitment to transparency and ethics in the judiciary.  Meetings and site visits will highlight the judiciary’s role in preserving democratic practices such as due process, trial by jury, the right to representation and a fair trial, the role of the public defender, the appeals process, judicial appointments, and governmental accountability.  Participants will examine case studies that they could apply in their own communities.
